Hello parents and students! In this post I will be covering the type of work we will be doing through out the school year as well as how I will introduce the work to my students on my blog. I will post here, specifically labeling each school grade to ensure that parents and students know what class needs what information on their specific project or assignment. Posts will look similar to this.

                                                                          K-1
Kindergarten will be focusing on learning about the colors in the color wheel, learning what primary and secondary colors are, mixing colors and painting with them in creative ways using water colors. First Grade will be focusing more on using those colors to paint and to do other activities with what they have learned the year before. Students will learn more about mixing unique colors.

                                                                          2-3
Second Grade will be touching base with cutting shapes and using them to create a mosaic. They will also be creative with continuing using different colors at an advanced stage (per their age). Third Grade will be doing more advanced mosaic techniques using tiles or stones instead of paper.

4-5
Fourth Grade will be working on paper-mache using newspaper, paste, and several different colors of paint. Fifth Grade will learn techniques they will be taught about in middle and high school. They will learn about shading, hashing, and using different angles to make images look 3-D.

As the students begin to learn about art through the coming year, I hope to learn about them as well!
How can you connect this art work to your own life?
